How far ahead into the future can a psychic see?
Psychics who read energy can usually see what is ahead in the near future, up to about 12 months, based on the energy at the time of the reading and the probable direction of events if things stay the same. Some psychics can see flashes of the far-off future, but most cannot. Every psychic is different, and through free will, things can and do change. Your psychic will see what you are meant to know, and no psychic will show you what you are not meant to know.
I give psychic readings every day, and there is a constant question about what is going to happen in the future. Most of the time the subject is love, of course, but other concerns are high on the list too: when people will marry or have children, who they will marry and, of course, when. When they will get a new job, or just when their life will change and get better.
Does every psychic see the future the same way?
No. Every psychic you talk to works differently. Discovering one's psychic ability, and how it works, is unique for everyone, so how each psychic uses their gift will also be uniquely expressed.
For me personally, it took many years to realize how spiritually gifted I was, to become aware that not everyone saw things the way I did, and that I would one day be able to see for others. Discovering a spiritual gift in yourself can be very surprising, learning to use it can be very challenging, and using it to help others can be very intimidating. It all evolves differently, because spiritual gifts are like the rainbow: you can see it, but you cannot touch it. It is felt with a sense of knowing, and it takes time to become confident in what you sense. For me, a gift of hearing was my first psychic awareness, though I had no idea what it was.
All this is to say that every psychic is different, and there is no manual for discovering your gift. Certain experiences will prompt you to investigate further, which leads to study and learning. But everyone who becomes a psychic reader has the task of learning about their gift, and then finding out whether it is their purpose to offer it to others by developing the skill to do so.
Why is predicting the future the hardest part of a reading?
Predicting the future through psychic readings is by far the most challenging part, because there is only so much of the exact future you are meant to know in advance, and I have found that very few people have the ability to predict it. The past and the present are readily accessible to talented psychics, because, think of it this way, they have already been written.
Some psychics try to give you details of the future simply because you are asking. And some people ask away, thinking, wow, I'm talking to a psychic, they know everything that is going to happen. THAT IS WRONG. It's a misconception. Ask yourself why you want to know a particular thing about the future. You may want to know when you are going to be with that special someone. You just "need" to know now. You may say, why should I call a psychic if they can't tell me what is going to happen?
I think the idea of seeing the future has been popularized and hyped up in movies and literature because, in certain cases like Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce, the future was seen with amazing, undeniable accuracy. It is believed that Nostradamus, who lived in the 16th century, predicted many world events, even into the 20th century.
Can some psychics see further than others?
Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce are two of the most notable psychic seers in history, and a very good reason to believe that some of the future can be known. But the gift of seeing the future is not only uncommon; it is a very, very delicate part of psychic readings, and different psychics may pick up on different things. The way they discovered, developed and use their gift dictates what they are able to pick up on. Psychics have filters too, and are more or less sensitive to certain types of energy. They are not all the same.
You may ask a certain question but receive an answer that doesn't pertain to it: an answer with some bearing on the future, just not on your question.
What happens when you try to force an answer?
Sometimes clients try to force an answer out of a psychic, and this approach is very blocking. By forcing answers, you can push the psychic to just appease you rather than give you the information that needs to be imparted.
This happens a lot on psychic networks. A real psychic on a network is sometimes not strong enough to buck the trend of feel-good readings, and if they do, they get the wrath of a person not ready to deal with the truth, and sometimes negative feedback when the dates the person was "waiting" for don't happen. If you think you are supposed to have a guarantee of the date something you want will happen, you are mistaken. Psychics are not responsible for your self-gratification.

So how far ahead can a psychic really see?
The bottom line:
- Different psychics see different things in the future, and read in different ways. No one can say a psychic should see anything in particular; their pathways are unique.
- Psychics who read energy can see what is ahead based on the energy at the time of the reading. What is seen depends on the energy flow and the probable direction and outcome of events in the near future, up to approximately 12 months, should things remain unchanged. Through free will, things can and do change, and that keeps things exciting.
- Some psychics can see flashes of the far-off future; most cannot. This is rarer, but possible depending on the psychic's unique gift.
It's unreasonable to expect exact dates, because each reading imparts the information needed for the client's positive growth, and all the factors are unique for each person. Exact dates have been seen, but you should not expect or feel entitled to one if it can't be known at the time of your reading.
In short, your psychic will see what you are supposed to know, and no matter who you talk to, you will not see something you are not meant to know.

Be open and ready to receive information from higher consciousness, and don't try to force information, because you are not entitled to know everything that will happen to you in the future.
