My story, in my own words
Who Is Cherry Sage?
I'm a professional psychic: a clairvoyant, clairaudient, empath and numerologist, reading for clients since 1999. This is the story of how I came to this work.

My journey began long before I ever considered giving psychic readings for a living. In fact, becoming a psychic wasn’t something I had planned at all. My story began with a little girl who was extraordinarily sensitive to the people around her, a twelve-year-old who couldn’t understand the purpose of life if we were simply going to die, and a teenager whose discovery of reincarnation would change the way she understood existence.
And when I eventually left Maryland for New York City, it wasn’t to become a psychic. I went there to pursue a career in show business. Life, as it turned out, had something entirely different in store for me.
How I read
Honest, and human
Clairvoyant & clairaudient
I see and hear the energies around a question, then tell you plainly what I sense, and check that it resonates for you.
Empath & numerologist
I feel the emotional truth beneath a situation, and I read the numbers that shape your path, from Life Path to Karmic Debt.
Honest over fantasy
90% of my clients are repeat callers. I offer the truth with compassion and responsibility, never fear, never a script.
The Little Girl Who Felt Everything
As a child, I was extremely sensitive to the emotions of other people. I could pick up on what someone was feeling, and sometimes even their thoughts, without understanding what was happening. The difficulty was that I couldn’t always distinguish those feelings from my own. If someone was angry, upset, or troubled, I might experience those emotions so intensely that I assumed they were directed toward me. You can imagine how confusing that could be for a little girl who had no idea why she was feeling things that didn’t seem to belong to her.
It took time and experience for me to understand that what I was picking up from other people wasn’t necessarily about me. Someone else’s sadness didn’t have to become my sadness, and another person’s anger wasn’t automatically directed toward me. Gradually, I learned to recognize the difference between my own emotional experiences and those of the people around me. Today, I understand those early experiences as empathic sensitivity, but back then I was simply trying to make sense of a world that often felt emotionally overwhelming.
By the time I was twelve, my curiosity had turned toward questions that were even more difficult to understand. Why are we born if we’re only going to die? What is the purpose of living an entire lifetime if everything eventually comes to an end? Those questions genuinely troubled me. I couldn’t make sense of why we would come into this world, experience so much, and then simply cease to exist. Surely there had to be something more to life than that.
Edgar Cayce and the Discovery That Changed My Life
One late night, while I was still a teenager living at home, I happened to be watching a television talk show discussing Edgar Cayce, the man known as the Sleeping Prophet. I was fascinated by what I heard, and as soon as I could get to a bookstore, I loaded up on books about him. Remember, there was no Amazon back then! If you wanted to explore an unusual subject, you had to go looking for the books yourself, and I was more than willing to do that.
What captured my attention more than anything was reincarnation. That was the revelation for me, the linchpin that connected this life with a greater purpose. The possibility that our existence extended beyond a single lifetime gave me an entirely different way of understanding the questions I’d been asking since childhood. I felt energized, but more than anything, I felt relieved. For the first time, I had encountered an explanation that helped me make sense of why we might be here and why our experiences mattered.
My fascination with life’s mysteries finally had some substance behind it. At that point, I had no idea what a psychic was; no one in our household even used that word. I wasn’t looking for psychic abilities or imagining that I would someday give readings professionally. I was simply a young woman whose understanding of life had expanded enormously, and I wanted to keep learning.
My Spirit Guides and an Unexpected Journey to New York
When I was twenty-three, I learned a technique for connecting with my Spirit Guides. It became something I used privately whenever life presented a problem or I needed guidance. I would connect with them, ask my questions, receive information, and then go about my life. Looking back, I suppose I was giving myself psychic readings without even realizing it. But it wasn’t something I thought of as a profession. It was simply a resource I had learned to use when I needed answers.
My career ambitions were actually taking me in a completely different direction. I had a background in the arts, and I moved from Maryland to New York City to pursue a career as a professional singer, actress, and model. I did spend some time modeling and singing, but I soon discovered that I really didn’t like show business. I found aspects of the industry sleazy, and I simply couldn’t tolerate that environment. It wasn’t a world I wanted to be part of, and I eventually realized that the career I’d gone to New York to pursue wasn’t for me.
What I couldn’t have imagined was that New York would give me something far more meaningful than the entertainment career I’d originally envisioned. While I was living there, a woman gave me a numerology reading, and that experience changed the direction of my life.
Six Years of Numerology and the Discovery of Tarot
I was so fascinated by that numerology reading that I began combing occult bookstores in practically every corner of New York City, searching for anything I could find about the subject. I stayed up late into the night studying, and I didn’t limit my education to books. I studied people, too. Friends, acquaintances, practically everyone I came in contact with became an opportunity to explore what I was learning. I wanted to understand how the numbers worked, what they revealed about personality and life experiences, and how accurately I could interpret them.
This wasn’t a passing interest. For six years, I immersed myself in numerology, studying and giving readings, continually learning from the people I read for. Over time, I developed an understanding that no single book could have given me. Numerology became something I knew through years of experience rather than simply a subject I’d studied.
Eventually, I bought my first Tarot deck. Numerology and Tarot are connected through their symbolism, so it seemed like a natural progression. What I hadn’t anticipated was what would happen when I began working with the cards. There must be something rather magical about Tarot symbolism, because that was when my clairvoyance and clairaudience first became palpable to me. As I worked with the cards and asked questions, I began receiving visual impressions and hearing information that went beyond the traditional meanings I’d learned. The symbolism seemed to bring my natural abilities into much clearer expression.
That experience helped shape the way I read Tarot to this day. I don’t simply memorize card meanings and recite them to clients. I use Tarot alongside my clairvoyance and clairaudience, allowing the symbolism to help me explore and clarify the information I receive. Numerology and Tarot became powerful tools that supported abilities I’d been experiencing, in one form or another, since childhood.
The Career I Never Planned
For years, I gave readings without charging a penny. I studied, practiced, observed, and continued learning through experience until I eventually realized that I’d become very good at what I was doing. I had spent years developing genuine expertise, and I felt confident that I was ready to make a profession out of my readings.
By then, I was also having visions of myself working from home full-time. I could see a future in which I would build my own business while still being present for my son. I remember telling him, “Mommy is going to be working from home and I will be taking you to school and picking you up.” I wasn’t simply imagining a convenient arrangement. I could see that life ahead of me, and I believed it was going to happen.
I eventually returned home to Maryland equipped with something I never could have anticipated when I left: years of spiritual study, extensive experience reading people, and a much more developed understanding of my psychic abilities. I had gone to New York to pursue show business and came home a spiritual guide. In time, I quit my job and started my professional psychic reading business. That same year, Spin Magazine found my site and invited me to be their “Ask the Expert” guest.
And here I am today.
A Career Built on Helping People Find Answers
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of giving psychic readings to people from around the world. Some of my clients have been calling me for more than twenty years. I’ve known others long enough to watch entire chapters of their lives unfold, from difficult relationships and career changes to marriages, families, and new beginnings. Those long-standing relationships are among the things I treasure most about my work.
People often come to me when they’re confused, worried, heartbroken, or facing an important decision. Sometimes they’re trying to understand a relationship or wondering whether someone they love will return. Sometimes they’re concerned about their careers, finances, or families. And sometimes they’re simply trying to make sense of circumstances that have left them feeling uncertain about the future. I’ve learned that even when two people ask the same question, the circumstances behind it can be entirely different.
I understand how vulnerable someone can feel when they’re searching for answers. I’ve been asking life’s difficult questions since I was a little girl, and I know how much it can mean to find clarity when something is troubling you. While I understand the desire for reassurance, I also believe it’s important to tell clients what I genuinely perceive, even when it isn’t necessarily what they hoped to hear. That’s part of respecting the trust they place in me.
How I Work With My Clients
My psychic readings are focused on the questions my clients bring to me. I don’t generally give open-ended, general readings because I believe a clear, specific question is essential to receiving useful information. Sometimes I’ll rephrase a question to make it clearer when communicating with my Spirit Guides. If a situation is particularly complicated, I may ask for some background, but I don’t need someone to tell me their entire life story before we begin.
I work primarily with clairvoyance, clairaudience, and Tarot, drawing on abilities and techniques I’ve developed over many years. Numerology remains another important part of my work, and I offer a separate, detailed Full Life Numerology Reading that explores a person’s life through numerical patterns and forecasting. Unlike my question-focused psychic readings, the Full Life Numerology Reading doesn’t require clients to prepare questions.
Every client and every situation is different. My responsibility is to listen carefully, interpret the information I receive, and help people understand what I’m seeing as clearly as possible. I don’t pretend to know everything, and I certainly don’t claim to be a magician. What I bring to my work is a combination of natural psychic abilities, years of study, extensive practical experience, and a genuine interest in helping people understand their lives.
Why I Still Love What I Do
I still find people endlessly fascinating. I’ve heard extraordinary stories, witnessed difficult situations turn around, and shared in the happiness of clients whose lives have taken wonderful new directions. I’ve also had to deliver information that wasn’t easy to hear. Through it all, what has remained constant is my desire to help people find understanding when they need it most.
When I think about the sensitive little girl I once was, the twelve-year-old questioning the purpose of existence, and the teenager who found such relief in discovering reincarnation, I can see how those experiences became part of the work I do today. The path certainly wasn’t a straight one, and I never could have predicted that my pursuit of a show-business career would lead me to discover the profession I’ve practiced for so many years.
I didn’t set out to become a psychic. But through all those unexpected turns, I found my way to a career that feels entirely my own. And I wouldn’t trade it for the show-business career I once imagined.
