Yes, a psychic can sometimes see whether there is still an emotional connection between you and your ex, whether communication or reconciliation is likely, and what may be preventing the relationship from moving forward. However, seeing the possibility of someone returning is not the same as guaranteeing that they will. People have free will, and their choices can influence how a relationship develops.
I've been doing psychic readings professionally since 1999, and I can tell you that “Is my ex coming back?” is one of those questions that never goes out of style. The names change, the relationships change, and the circumstances certainly change, but the question remains remarkably consistent.
Sometimes the breakup happened three days ago, and sometimes it happened six months ago. Sometimes the two people supposedly aren't speaking, except they're watching each other's social media, sending mysterious birthday texts, asking mutual friends questions, and somehow managing to “accidentally” run into each other. And sometimes one person has truly moved on while the other is still waiting for a return that isn't coming.
A good psychic reading should help you understand which situation you're actually in.
What Can a Psychic See About an Ex?
When someone asks me whether an ex will return, I'm rarely looking at only one thing. I'm looking at the relationship itself and the emotional dynamics surrounding the separation.
Is the emotional connection still active? Does this relationship feel finished, or does it feel unresolved? Is there anger covering love? Is there genuine longing, or are we dealing with nostalgia, loneliness, guilt, habit, or simply difficulty letting go?
Those things can feel remarkably similar when you're the person experiencing them, but they don't necessarily lead to the same future.
During a relationship reading, I may look at several things:
- Whether the emotional connection is still strong.
- Whether your ex appears to be moving toward or away from you.
- Whether communication is likely.
- What caused or contributed to the separation.
- Whether the obstacles between you are temporary or fundamental.
- Whether reconciliation appears possible.
- Whether getting back together would actually lead to a healthier relationship.
That last question is particularly important because sometimes the question isn't really “Will my ex come back?” It's “If my ex comes back, will anything be different?”
And those are two very different questions.
Can a Psychic Tell If Your Ex Still Has Feelings for You?
In my experience, psychic readings can sometimes reveal feelings that aren't being openly expressed. However, feelings alone don't tell the whole story, and this is where people can become confused about what a reading is actually telling them.
Someone can love you and still decide not to return. Someone can miss you without being willing to change. Someone can think about you every day and still be too angry, frightened, stubborn, hurt, or involved with someone else to do anything about it.
And occasionally, someone comes back even though the relationship itself hasn't improved at all.
This is why I don't like reducing a relationship reading to a simple yes or no. Feelings influence behavior, but feelings and behavior are not the same thing. When I'm reading a relationship, I want to know not only what your ex feels but also where those feelings appear to be taking them.
For example, there is a considerable difference between someone who misses you but has firmly decided to move forward and someone who is actively reconsidering the breakup. Both people may still have feelings, but only one may be moving toward reconciliation.
Understanding that distinction can save you a great deal of emotional uncertainty.
How Can a Psychic Know Whether Reconciliation Is Likely?
Every psychic works differently. I'm clairvoyant and clairaudient, and I also use Tarot and numerology when they're helpful. Sometimes information comes through very directly. Sometimes I see a pattern developing, and sometimes Tarot confirms what I'm already picking up psychically.
What I've learned over more than 27 years of professional readings is that you cannot force an answer simply because someone desperately wants one. There are times when a relationship appears to have unfinished business, and there are times when the emotional connection remains strong even though the circumstances make reconciliation difficult.
There are also times when what I see isn't the answer the person calling me hoped to hear.
If I see your ex returning, I'll tell you. If I see communication but not a lasting reconciliation, I'll tell you that too. And if I believe you're waiting for someone who is moving in another direction, I'm not going to manufacture hope just to make the reading feel better.
Clarity is more valuable than fantasy.
A psychic reading should help you understand the direction of your relationship, not simply reassure you that everything will turn out exactly as you want.
Can a Psychic Predict When Your Ex Will Come Back?
Timing is possible in psychic readings, but it's also one of the easiest things for people to misunderstand.
I may see a period when communication becomes more likely or when someone's energy begins moving back toward a relationship. Tarot can sometimes suggest timing as well. But I don't regard psychic timing as an appointment written into a calendar.
People make decisions, hesitate, get frightened, meet someone else, change their minds, or simply decide that they aren't ready. And sometimes the person waiting for reconciliation changes their mind too.
Free will is constantly interacting with the circumstances surrounding a prediction.
So if I see movement within the next few months, I'll tell you what I'm seeing. What I won't do is pretend the future is a train schedule and your ex is guaranteed to arrive at 3:17 on Thursday afternoon.
Life is rarely that cooperative.
This is something I've discussed in other articles about psychic predictions and timing. A psychic may perceive the direction events are taking, but that doesn't necessarily mean every detail of the future is fixed.
What If Your Ex Is Already Seeing Someone Else?
This is another situation I encounter frequently in relationship readings. Someone calls because their former partner has started dating another person, and naturally they want to know whether that means the relationship is over permanently.
A new relationship doesn't automatically mean the previous emotional connection has disappeared. But it doesn't automatically mean your ex is coming back either.
The important questions become different. How serious is the new relationship? What emotional connection remains between you? Is your ex genuinely building a new life, or avoiding unresolved feelings? Are you waiting because there is a real possibility of reconciliation, or because you haven't been able to accept that the relationship has ended?
Sometimes a person enters another relationship before they've emotionally processed the previous one. Sometimes they've already moved on long before the breakup became official. These situations may look similar from the outside, but the emotional circumstances can be quite different.
A relationship reading may help you explore those possibilities. However, I also believe it's important to remember that another person's relationship should not become something you spend your life trying to control.
You deserve information that helps you make decisions about your own life, regardless of what someone else ultimately chooses.
Can a Psychic Make Your Ex Come Back?
No. And this is where I want to make an important distinction.
A psychic can offer insight into a relationship, another person's feelings, possible future developments, and the likelihood of reconciliation. That is entirely different from claiming to possess supernatural powers that can compel someone to return.
I wrote about this years ago in my article, Do Psychics Really Have the Power to Bring a Lover Back Into Your Life?
In that article, I discuss something I've witnessed repeatedly throughout my career: people who are emotionally devastated by a breakup becoming vulnerable to individuals who promise to reunite them with someone for a substantial amount of money.
When you're heartbroken, hope can become an extraordinarily powerful motivator. Unfortunately, there are people who understand that vulnerability and are quite willing to exploit it.
Be particularly cautious if someone tells you that your ex is guaranteed to return if you pay for a spell, curse removal, cleansing, or some increasingly expensive intervention.
Nobody should be promising you control over another person's free will.
A legitimate psychic reading should provide insight, understanding, and a clearer perspective. It should never make you dependent upon the psychic or frightened that something terrible will happen unless you continue paying for services.
What Questions Should You Ask a Psychic About Your Ex?
“Will my ex come back?” is a perfectly reasonable question, and there's nothing wrong with asking it directly. But I often find that people gain a much better understanding of their relationships when they look beyond that one question.
Some useful questions include:
- What does my ex currently feel about me?
- Is communication likely between us?
- What is preventing reconciliation?
- Has this relationship genuinely ended?
- If we reconcile, what would need to change?
- Is my ex likely to initiate contact?
- Am I waiting for someone who is actually moving on?
- What am I not seeing clearly about this relationship?
That last question can be surprisingly powerful.
Sometimes people call me wanting confirmation of what they already believe. They may be convinced that their ex is still in love with them, that another person is interfering, or that reconciliation is inevitable because the connection feels so strong.
But the most valuable information in a reading may be something they hadn't considered at all.
I've always believed that a psychic's responsibility is to reveal what they're receiving, not simply repeat what the person wants to hear.
What If a Psychic Says Your Ex Isn't Coming Back?
This is the answer nobody wants, and I understand that. When you're still in love with someone, the thought that the relationship may be permanently over can be extremely painful.
But if you've come to me for a reading, I believe you deserve the truth as I see it, not a story designed to keep you hopeful and coming back for another reading next week.
And here's something else I've learned from years of talking to people about their relationships: the end of one relationship does not mean the end of your love life.
I've spoken with people who were absolutely convinced one particular person was their only chance at love. They couldn't imagine wanting anyone else, and the idea of starting over seemed almost unbearable.
Then life moved forward. They moved forward. And eventually someone else appeared.
Sometimes the person you desperately want back really does return. Sometimes they return and you discover why the relationship ended in the first place. And sometimes the greatest gift is finally realizing that the person you were waiting for was occupying the space where something better could have entered.
You can't always see that while you're heartbroken.
Should You Get a Psychic Reading About Your Ex?
A psychic reading can be particularly helpful when you're receiving mixed signals, communication has stopped without emotional closure, you're unsure whether to wait or move forward, or your own emotions are making it difficult to see the relationship clearly.
However, the purpose of a reading shouldn't be to surrender your decisions to a psychic. It should be to gain information and perspective that help you make better decisions for yourself.

After more than 27 years of reading for people, I've learned that love rarely gives us only one question.
Usually, “Will my ex come back?” is simply the first one.
