I assumed that knowing that love was coming my way meant that I needed to just show up and receive the love that was awaiting me and it was the furthest thing from the truth. My prince in shining armor's behavior was far from story book, and I wanted to wait it out assuming that he would miraculously change his behavior once he was madly in love. . . WRONG!!!! Actually the ups and downs of the relationship increased until I began to heed Cherry's advice to put my foot down. Once I took her advice, I began to see significant positive changes in the relationship and in Prince Charming. When I cooled my jets and showed him that I could live without him, he began to do a great deal of soul searching and his behavior slowly but surely began to change for the better. Now, I am not without my own issues that have brought drama to the relationship. I continue to fight with fear of vulnerability and mistrust, but through Cherry's insightful gift, I have been able to throat many of my insecurities that could have sabotaged the relationship. My greatest lessen through this ongoing process is that life is not stagnant, you can't be a spectator in your life and assume that everything will turn out all right. One has to make hard decisions and stand by them for change to come about and let me just say that life is so much more exciting when you are an active participant.
